This was more than a bike ride, this was an Ironman — still with no strength in me, six months after they opened up
After putting my goggles back on, mostly filled with water, I noticed that the contact lens of my left eye twisted and floating, and at that moment the alarm rang and adrenaline took over. After a few seconds to fix the goggles and conform to the idea that the visibility was going to be minimal and single-eyed for the rest of the race, I got my hands back in the water.
When I received an email notification on my cell phone, I got up suddenly, left the restaurant where I dined, and went into the cold November air to assimilate what had just happened. My Norseman ID had been one of 250 drawn out of 4800 applications to Norseman!!
